Mère De Vie™ is dedicated to helping women move with greater awareness, intention, strength, balance, and confidence throughout the many stages of life and motherhood.
Because movement and wellness are deeply personal—and because pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum recovery, age, physical condition, and medical history can affect how the body responds to exercise—it is important to understand the nature and limitations of the information and instruction provided through Mère De Vie.
Mère De Vie™ (“Mère De Vie,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a DBA of Elements Of G, LLC.
This Health, Fitness & Medical Disclaimer applies to meredevie.com, the Mère De Vie Movement Studio, the Mère De Vie Journal, gTonnicks® movement instruction, courses, videos, programs, memberships, the gBalance Bar, and other fitness, movement, wellness, lifestyle, or educational content and services we provide.
1. Educational and Fitness Purposes Only
The information and instruction provided by Mère De Vie are intended for general fitness, movement, wellness, lifestyle, and educational purposes.
Mère De Vie does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment through the Site, and our fitness and wellness content is not intended to replace professional medical care.
Nothing provided through Mère De Vie should be interpreted as individualized:
- Medical advice
- Diagnosis
- Medical treatment
- Physical therapy
- Rehabilitation therapy
- Mental-health treatment
- Nutritional therapy
- Obstetric or gynecological care
- Prenatal or postpartum medical care
- Emergency medical care
Articles, videos, demonstrations, movement recommendations, educational materials, and other content are general in nature and cannot account for every individual’s medical history, physical condition, pregnancy, recovery, limitations, medications, injuries, or other circumstances.
2. Consult an Appropriate Healthcare Professional
You are responsible for determining whether a particular exercise, movement practice, program, or piece of equipment is appropriate for you.
Consult an appropriately qualified physician or other healthcare professional before beginning or materially changing an exercise program if you:
- Are pregnant
- Recently gave birth
- Are recovering from childbirth or surgery
- Have an injury
- Have a known medical condition
- Have cardiovascular concerns
- Experience chronic or unexplained pain
- Have significant balance limitations
- Have been advised to restrict physical activity
- Are taking medication that may affect exercise tolerance
- Have concerns about your ability to exercise safely
- Have any other circumstance for which professional medical guidance would be appropriate
Receiving general medical clearance to exercise does not necessarily mean that every Mère De Vie exercise, intensity, movement, progression, or program is appropriate for you.
Your healthcare professional is best positioned to advise you regarding your individual medical circumstances.
3. Pregnancy
Pregnancy produces significant and highly individualized physiological changes.
Mère De Vie may provide movement and educational content intended for women during pregnancy. However, no online program can determine the medical appropriateness of exercise for an individual pregnancy.
If you are pregnant, you should discuss exercise with your obstetrician, midwife, physician, or other appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
Your ability to exercise may change throughout pregnancy.
A movement that was comfortable or appropriate earlier in pregnancy may not remain appropriate later, and an exercise that is appropriate for one pregnant woman may not be appropriate for another.
Mère De Vie does not guarantee that any particular exercise or program is appropriate for your pregnancy.
Always follow individualized medical restrictions or recommendations given to you by your healthcare professional, even when they differ from general information provided through Mère De Vie.
4. Postpartum Recovery
Recovery following childbirth varies considerably from person to person.
Factors such as:
- Type of delivery
- Cesarean delivery
- Perineal trauma
- Pelvic-floor condition
- Abdominal recovery
- Diastasis recti
- Bleeding
- Pain
- Surgical recovery
- Sleep deprivation
- Hormonal changes
- Musculoskeletal changes
- Other pregnancy or delivery complications
may affect when and how exercise should be resumed.
Mère De Vie postpartum programs and movement practices are not substitutes for postpartum medical evaluation or individualized rehabilitation when such care is needed.
Do not assume that reaching a particular number of weeks after childbirth automatically makes every exercise appropriate.
Follow the advice of your healthcare professional concerning your return to physical activity and progress gradually according to your individual recovery.
5. Pelvic Floor and Abdominal Exercise
Mère De Vie may provide movement practices involving the pelvic floor, abdominal muscles, core, posture, breathing, and related muscular structures.
These practices are intended as general fitness and movement education.
They are not pelvic-floor physical therapy and are not intended to diagnose or treat conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse, urinary or fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, significant diastasis recti, surgical complications, or other pelvic-health conditions.
If you experience persistent pelvic pain, pressure, heaviness, leakage, significant abdominal discomfort, unusual symptoms, or concerns about pelvic-floor function, consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional or pelvic-health specialist.
6. Listen to Your Body
Mère De Vie encourages intentional movement and body awareness.
No instruction to complete a repetition, hold a position, maintain a contraction, increase intensity, or finish a sequence should override your body’s warning signals or appropriate medical advice.
Do not force a movement through significant pain or concerning symptoms.
Reduce the intensity, modify the movement, pause, or stop when appropriate.
Exercise naturally produces exertion and may produce muscular fatigue or soreness. You are responsible for distinguishing normal exercise sensations from symptoms that warrant stopping or obtaining professional evaluation.
7. When to Stop Exercising
Stop exercising and seek appropriate medical guidance if you experience symptoms that concern you or suggest that continuing may be unsafe.
These may include, depending on the circumstances:
- Significant or sudden pain
- Fainting or feeling as though you may faint
- Unusual or persistent dizziness
- Chest pain or pressure
- Severe or unusual shortness of breath
- Loss of balance that creates a risk of falling
- Unexpected bleeding
- Significant pelvic or abdominal pain
- Symptoms related to pregnancy that concern you
- Any other unusual or severe symptom
This list is not exhaustive.
If you believe you may be experiencing a medical emergency, stop exercising and contact emergency medical services or seek immediate medical care.
8. Online and Video Instruction
Mère De Vie offers movement instruction through online videos and other digital formats.
Unlike an in-person session, prerecorded or online content may not allow an instructor to:
- Observe your technique in real time
- Assess your physical condition
- Identify a medical limitation
- Correct your posture
- Determine whether you are using appropriate resistance
- See hazards in your environment
- Determine whether an exercise is suitable for you
- Respond immediately if you experience difficulty
You therefore assume additional responsibility when participating remotely.
Before beginning a practice, make sure you have sufficient space and an appropriate surface and that your surroundings are free of objects, people, pets, furniture, or other hazards that could interfere with movement.
9. Exercise Equipment and Resistance
Some Mère De Vie practices may use equipment such as:
- Dumbbells
- Resistance equipment
- Exercise mats
- Chairs or other supports
- The gBalance Bar
- Other fitness accessories
Inspect equipment before use and make sure it is in suitable condition.
Use resistance appropriate to your present ability rather than simply duplicating the resistance demonstrated by an instructor or another participant.
The weight, repetitions, range of motion, duration, or intensity shown in a video is not automatically a recommendation appropriate for every participant.
If you are uncertain about proper equipment use, do not use the equipment until you understand how to do so safely.
10. The gBalance Bar
The gBalance Bar (“gBB”) is used in certain gTonnicks and Mère De Vie movement practices to support movement awareness, alignment, body control, strength, balance, and related exercise objectives.
The gBalance Bar is a fitness and movement tool.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, it is not:
- A medical device
- A walking aid
- A cane
- A rehabilitation device
- A fall-prevention system
- A substitute for professionally prescribed assistive equipment
The gBalance Bar should not be relied upon to support your full body weight or prevent a fall unless a specific product instruction expressly states that it is designed for such use.
Before use:
- Inspect the bar for damage.
- Ensure any connecting components are properly assembled and secure.
- Make sure you have sufficient space around you.
- Maintain control of the bar throughout the movement.
- Avoid striking people, furniture, walls, ceilings, or other objects.
- Stop using the bar if it becomes damaged or unstable.
Follow the instructions provided for the applicable movement or practice.
11. gTonnicks® and IPCM
Mère De Vie movement instruction may incorporate the gTonnicks® Method and the principle of Intentional and Purposeful Contraction of the Muscles (IPCM).
IPCM emphasizes conscious muscular engagement and intentional movement.
Descriptions of muscular activation, contraction, body awareness, neurological engagement, posture, strength, balance, or similar concepts are provided as part of Mère De Vie’s movement and fitness methodology.
They should not be interpreted as claims that IPCM or the gTonnicks Method diagnoses, treats, prevents, or cures neurological, musculoskeletal, metabolic, obstetric, or other medical conditions.
References to physiology, anatomy, muscular recruitment, neuromuscular activity, or related scientific concepts are educational and do not convert fitness instruction into medical treatment.
12. Individual Results Vary
Human bodies respond differently to exercise.
Results may vary based upon factors including:
- Age
- Genetics
- Exercise history
- Frequency and consistency
- Nutrition
- Sleep
- Stress
- Pregnancy
- Postpartum status
- Hormonal factors
- Injury history
- Medical conditions
- Exercise technique
- Intensity
- Recovery
- Other individual circumstances
Mère De Vie does not guarantee any particular:

Testimonials, photographs, demonstrations, client stories, or individual experiences presented by Mère De Vie represent individual experiences and should not be interpreted as guarantees of results.
13. Movement During Labor and Childbirth
Mère De Vie may discuss concepts involving breathing, posture, muscular engagement, contractions, body awareness, pregnancy, labor, childbirth, or postpartum recovery for educational purposes.
Such discussion does not constitute obstetric care, childbirth instruction tailored to an individual pregnancy, or medical guidance for labor or delivery.
During labor, childbirth, or a pregnancy-related medical event, follow the instructions of your physician, midwife, obstetric provider, hospital, or other qualified healthcare professional.
Mère De Vie content should never be used to delay or replace appropriate medical care.
14. Nutrition and Lifestyle Content
Mère De Vie may publish general information concerning nutrition, hydration, sleep, recovery, lifestyle, self-care, or wellness.
Unless expressly identified otherwise, such information is general educational content and is not individualized dietary, medical, or nutritional treatment.
Individuals with allergies, metabolic conditions, pregnancy-related nutritional needs, eating disorders, medication interactions, or other medical concerns should obtain appropriate professional advice before making significant dietary changes.
15. Journal and Educational Content
Articles published in the Mère De Vie Journal may discuss fitness, physiology, motherhood, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, wellness, lifestyle, movement science, or related subjects.
Journal content is intended to educate, inform, and encourage thoughtful exploration.
It does not establish a physician-patient, therapist-patient, dietitian-client, or other licensed healthcare professional relationship between you and Mère De Vie, Elements Of G, LLC, an article author, or a contributor.
When an article features or quotes a physician, therapist, specialist, or other professional, the article remains general educational content unless an individualized professional relationship is separately established.
16. Guest Experts and Contributors
Mère De Vie may feature physicians, therapists, fitness professionals, wellness specialists, educators, writers, or other contributors.
The credentials, opinions, and recommendations of individual contributors are their own unless expressly stated otherwise.
The appearance of a professional on Mère De Vie does not create an individualized professional relationship between that person and the reader, viewer, subscriber, or member.
You should consult your own healthcare provider regarding decisions specific to your health.
17. No Professional Relationship Created
Using the Site, subscribing to the Journal, watching a movement video, purchasing a program, becoming a member, submitting a form, or communicating with Mère De Vie does not by itself create a doctor-patient or other licensed healthcare-provider relationship.
Personal training, coaching, fitness instruction, or movement education should not be confused with medical treatment.
18. Personal Responsibility and Assumption of Risk
Participation in physical exercise is voluntary.
Exercise and physical activity inherently involve some risk of injury. Risks can arise from exertion, improper technique, falls, equipment, environmental conditions, pre-existing conditions, or circumstances that may not be known to Mère De Vie.
By choosing to participate in Mère De Vie movement or fitness activities, you acknowledge that you are responsible for:
- Evaluating your ability to participate
- Obtaining appropriate professional guidance where needed
- Selecting appropriate movements and intensity
- Using equipment responsibly
- Maintaining a safe exercise environment
- Following medical restrictions applicable to you
- Stopping when participation appears unsafe
Nothing in this Disclaimer is intended to waive or limit a legal right or liability that cannot lawfully be waived or limited.
19. Limitation of General Information
Health and fitness research evolves.
Although Mère De Vie strives to present thoughtful and useful information, educational content may not reflect every scientific development, professional guideline, individual circumstance, or medical opinion.
Publication of information does not guarantee that it is appropriate for every person or circumstance.
